Our Story

MHA Jersey (Methodist Homes for the Aged) is a long-established charitable organisation providing exceptional residential care for older adults in Jersey. Inspired by Christian concern and guided by compassion, we support residents to live with dignity, independence and a genuine sense of home. Our two welcoming care homes—Stuart Court in St Lawrence and Maison La Corderie in St Helier—offer safe, comfortable surroundings and personalised care from experienced staff. We’re committed to quality, transparency and involvement, working closely with families and professionals to enhance wellbeing. Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is simple: people come first. We believe in creating caring, inclusive communities where every resident feels valued, supported and empowered to live life their way. Respite Care

Our respite care offers short-term stays designed to give carers a well-earned break while providing older adults with expert support in a warm, welcoming environment. Available at both Stuart Court and Maison La Corderie, respite stays are carefully planned following a personal assessment to ensure comfort and continuity of care. Guests enjoy the full benefits of our homes, including tailored support, nutritious meals, engaging activities and social interaction. Whether recovering from illness or supporting family carers, respite care is a practical, positive way to restore balance and wellbeing — with peace of mind for everyone involved.

Leadership Team

Our Leadership Team brings together experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering the highest standards of residential care. Led by our Home Managers and supported by senior carers, administrators, activity coordinators and catering teams, they work closely with our Board of Directors to ensure excellence at every level. Together, they champion a culture of respect, kindness and continuous improvement across both homes. Their hands-on approach, transparent communication and deep commitment to residents’ wellbeing ensure MHA Jersey remains a trusted, compassionate organisation at the heart of our island community.

What we got up too last week , Monday was morning exercises in the lounge and some Spring Arts and Crafts ,
Tuesday we visited the Glass Church Hall
For homemade cakes and biscuits, and decorated some Gingerbread people , we where very lucky to have the Swing Style Band visit us for musical afternoon , the room was filled with smiles , clapping and swaying in their chairs to the familiar lyrics .
Wednesday started off with some strength exercises and a drive out in the car for a few residents.
Thursday we are very lucky to have our super talented Shoni Hairdresser visit us ,
Followed by Boules and Skittles and the highlight was Ghillie our cuddly therapy Dog and Sue coming to brighten our day .
With a relaxing afternoon of a singalong with a group jigsaw puzzle , which we proudly completed .
Friday Elizabeth came along to sing us into the weekend , and an afternoon of of treats and Music in the lounge .
